The Goddess and the Quicksilver
Galatea and Daidalon
Galatea stays with one work, warmly; the Daidalon roams far and checks everything, coolly. One trusts the AI's voice and the other trusts only its sources. Odd colleagues, but an excellent writer and fact-checker team.
Together
Galatea's prose with the Daidalon's footnotes: an essay that is both beautiful and true.
Friction
The Daidalon has asked for a citation for a metaphor. Twice.
The myths agree
Two statues, one goddess. Aristotle mentions Daedalus's wooden Aphrodite, said to move because quicksilver was poured into it (De Anima 1.3, 406b), and in Ovid it is Venus herself who brings Pygmalion's statue to life (Metamorphoses 10.243-297).
Eclipse. Nothing in common, everything to learn. Galatea is Muse and Fixed; Daidalon is Oracle and Wanderer.
