Pandora asks Galatea to look at 'one quick thing'. For Galatea, there are no quick things.
The myths agree
Aphrodite has a hand in both. Hesiod has golden Aphrodite pour grace on Pandora's head (Works and Days 65), and in Ovid it is Venus who answers Pygmalion's prayer and brings his statue to life (Metamorphoses 10.243-297).
