The Dancer and the Statue
Performer and Galatea
Both are Muses who treat the AI as a creative partner, but the Performer sparks and Galatea sculpts. The Performer gets a hundred ideas a night; Galatea turns one of them into something that lasts. Same workshop, very different hours.
Together
The Performer's playful first draft, polished by Galatea, becomes something both fun and finished.
Friction
Galatea wants to keep refining the joke. The Performer has already told it to everyone.
The myths agree
Two made beings who stirred human desire. Yan Shi's dancing automaton winked at King Mu's court ladies and nearly got its maker executed (Liezi, ch. 5), and Pygmalion fell in love with the statue he had carved (Ovid, Metamorphoses 10.243-297).
Kin. Same workshop, different hours. Performer is Muse and Comet; Galatea is Muse and Fixed.
