Across the wheel from each other, they keep identical time: both are Fixed, both come back to the same thread for months. The Talos returns to review the work and Mímir returns to talk through life. They respect each other's constancy, even though one is checking code and the other is checking in.

Mímir helps the Talos think about why they guard so hard, and the Talos helps Mímir notice when the AI's advice does not add up.

Mímir wants the AI to be a friend. The Talos thinks it is a junior colleague on probation.
